UK Payroll Specialist

Paycheck Plus are enhancing our UK payroll service offering and seeking a Payroll Specialist to head up our UK payroll team based in Manchester, UK.

UK Payroll Specialist: CIPP (or equivalent) Accreditation is essential for this UK Payroll Specialist role as is proven experience in a bureau or large volume payroll environment.Answerable to the Directors and Senior Management Team, the ideal candidate will have 4+ years management experience within a Bureau / Shared Service Environment or handling multiple high volume payrolls.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Processing multiple payrolls on behalf of clients accurately, on time and efficiently.
  • Regular auditing of documentation to ensure compliance with regulations.
  • Provide friendly support to clients and their employees for all payroll related matters.
  • Be enthusiastic and passionate about providing clients with the highest level of service.
  • Maintaining and further developing the relationship with the existing customer base throughout Ireland, the UK and internationally.
  • Identifying opportunities and implementing solutions with both the existing and new client set

The Ideal candidates will have the following skills, experience, and qualifications:

  • Proficiency in UK employment law and payroll related tax matters.
  • Proven experience with Star payroll software, HMRC submission, Auto-Enrolment, Payroll Journals, BAC’s etc.
  • Proficient user of Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel & Outlook
  • Time management, administration skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent organisational skills with a commercial focus.
  • Lead and participate in payroll process improvement projects, efficiencies, automation and systems enhancements.
  • Maintenance of effective controls and business continuity plans with sensitivity to data security.
  • Communicate and support cross-functional goals and objectives.
  • Be enthusiastic and passionate about providing clients with the highest level of service.
  • Flexibility to meet changes in working requirements is essential.
  • While some training will be provided, we expect a suitable candidate to be a self-starter.

Location in Northern Ireland to be finalised and consideration will be given to the candidates preferred location.  Some travel may be required to the Head Office.
