National Payroll Week

National Payroll Week takes place from 5 – 9 September and recognises and celebrates not only the impact of payroll on business, but also the contribution that payroll makes to the UK economy.  Especially as taxable income accounts for nearly half of all taxable revenues through the £533bn total tax revenue paid to the government, with £169bn collected through income tax and £113bn through national insurance contributions.

The theme for NPW 2016 is ‘it pays to learn’, concentrating on the role that payroll can play in ‘educating the nation’.  We are encouraging payroll professionals to think how they can expand their financial understanding and therefore wellbeing, of individuals employed by their organisation. Educate your employees to become more financially aware by discussing the importance of financial awareness, saving through payroll and using a credit union rather than a payday loan. With your support your employees could have a more positive attitude and improve their performance at work. National Payroll Week gives employers the opportunity to show the positive impact payroll can have on the nation.

Last year we had over 1,500 organisations celebrating NPW and for 2016 we want to better this and get even more businesses on board. We’ve got plenty of ideas to get you started so get your company involved in becoming part of payrolls biggest celebration.
