Customer Payroll Challenge:
The accountant responsible for processing payroll services for the nursing home had many years of experience but not specifically in payroll. At year end the accountant engaged a software consultant who completed the year end process and set up payroll processes for the New Year. For due diligence purposes, the accountant asked Paycheck Plus to oversee the work as well as help in any necessary preparations for the coming year.
On examining some of the payroll elements in place, Paycheck Plus discovered a number of errors including an oversight where a number of staff were paying the wrong National Insurance Contribution.
Paycheck Plus made the necessary adjustments to the payroll and got a refund for the employees totalling more than £15,000 and a refund for the employer of almost £26,720. The accountant no longer requires payroll services from his consultant and finds he can outsource every aspect of his payroll leaving him free to concentrate on his other responsibilities without the worry about payroll management.
